OUR STO
RY & FOUNDATIONAL BELIEFS....
Community is important. Here at New Life we believe that the Christian walk should be focused on community. We take that word to a deeper level focusing on the Greek term "Koinea" which means fellowship, community, like mindedness and family. We truly believe that God doesn't intend for any of us to be "lone rangers." We are born to be together walking through the joy and pain that life brings supporting each other along the way. Scripture tells us to not fail to meet together and we see that "command" as an order from a God who made us, loves us and knows how we tick as a lifeline to success in our lives. We believe that hanging out together is vital to our spiritual survival so we try to give that opportunity to the families in our community as often as possible. So, no matter if it's Sunday morning, Life Groups, any other planned activity of the church or simply calling up a friend in our church family to come over and hang out. We encourage you to stay in the loop and gain the strength that comes from us "doing life together" in Christ.
1. New Life Community Church Beliefs
About God
We believe that Almighty God is revealed to us as one God in three Persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Matthew 28:19; Ephesians 1:18; I Peter 1:2; John 14:16,17
About the Bible
We believe that the Bible is the holy, inspired, inerrant, infallible Word of God and is the highest authority by which our faith and practice is measured.
II Timothy 3:16; II Peter 1:20-21; Matthew 24:35
About Man
We believe that though man was created perfect, is now fallen into sin, and is unable to redeem himself.
Romans 3:23; Ephesians 2:1-5, 12; Roman 5:12
About Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is the unique Son of God, born of a virgin, and sinless in His life. His death was vicarious and substitutionary for the redemption of fallen man. He fully died on the Cross, and, after three days in the grave, was bodily resurrected. He ascended to the right hand of the Father where He presently reigns. He is returing at the end of this age. His return will be personal and bodily, and it is imminent.
Matthew 1:18-23; Luke 1:26-37; John 1:14-18; I Peter 2:21-24; Romans 5:6-8; II Corinthians 5:15-21; Titus 2:14; John 1:29; Matthew 28:1-7; John 20:26-31; I Corinthians 15:12-20; Philippians 2:6-11; Matthew 24:36-44; Acts 1:10-11; I Thessalonians 4:13-18; Revelation 19:11-16
About Salvation
We believe in the necessity and availability of new birth by faith in Christ’s finished work.
John 3:1-16; I Peter 1:3, 23; Titus 3:5; John 1:12-13
About the Holy Spirit
We believe in the availability and need for personal empowerment by the ministry of the Holy Spirit resulting in availability of any and all of the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 3:11-17; Acts 1:8; Acts 2:1-4; Ephesians 5:18-20
About Eternity
We believe that at the end of the age there will be a resurrection of all men and a final assignment of eternal blessedness or eternal woe.
Revelation 20:11-15; II Thessalonians 1:9; Mark 9:42-28; Matthew 25:31-46
2. What kind of church is New Life Community Church?
Evangelical
This Means: Believing in salvation by faith in the atoning death of Jesus Christ through personal conversion, the authority of Scripture, and the importance of preaching over ritual.
Biblical
This Means: Holding that the Bible rather than tradition or subjective experience is the final and authoritative guide for all we do.
Charismatic
This Means: Believing in the active present day ministry of the Holy Spirit, Who gives His gifts to all believers. All of these gifts should be regularly exercised in the life of the church and the individual.
Non-denominational
This Means: Believing that Christ wants His Body to work together, we seek to break down walls rather than build them up. We seek to draw from all segments of the true Church to gain benefit from the deposits of truth God has placed there.
Unfinished
This Means:: Believing that God is restoring His Church to New Testament vitality, we seek to always remain open to the new ways God is moving and speaking to His people.
